Originally hired to participate in the development of a facility master plan for this 143-bed hospital, EEI subsequently provided design/build services for the construction of a new central plant in this medical facility. EEI's services included study, design and construction. As the M/E/P contractor, EEI was responsible for construction budgeting, scheduling and overall project management.
This project consisted of building the new central plant, providing new distribution systems to the old plant locations and demolishing old plant equipment. The new central plant consists of three heating hot water boilers; two steam boilers; three new 350-ton chillers with dedicated cooling towers; mechanical free cooling with tower water; new DDC/PLC controls; a new 900-kW emergency generator; and new domestic, fire and water service entrances.
