LABORATORY BUILDING ENERGY AUDIT AND SYSTEMS EVALUATION
Corvallis, Oregon

EEI provided building assessment services to evaluate retrofit viability for the 40-year old, 52,000-SF Main Building at the campus location. The facility includes 25 lab areas served by 46 hoods in the core surrounded by perimeter offices.
Staff interviews and equipment inspection at the building confirmed that many of the energy savings opportunities had been addressed in prior years. The evaluation efforts then focused on researching and describing existing operational, equipment and building condition characteristics and developing short-term and long-term recommendations for improvement. These preliminary recommendations are to be used as a starting point for design efforts relative to a significant renovation of the building envelope, mechanical and control systems.

REGION 10 LABORATORY
PHASE II LAB MODERNIZATIONS
Manchester, Washington

EEI provided mechanical and electrical commissioning services for the modernization of an existing EPA laboratory facility. The project includes the addition of 550 square feet of new mechanical space and the remodel of 8,830 SF of lab and lab support space. Commissioning services include the support of start-up, functional testing and final documentation of the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.

THE ANDREW BREIDENBACH ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH CENTER (AWBERC) PHASE II
Cincinnati, Ohio

The Andrew W. Breidenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC) houses the largest scientific/technical collection in the EPA library network. Two 22,900-SF additions to the existing Annex 1 facility are being constructed that will consist of three floors and a basement area for office space and mechanical equipment. The design and construction of the new Annex is focused on achieving Gold LEEDŽ certification.
EEI has been hired to provide commissioning services associated with the expansion of an existing 45,000-SF facility. EEI's services include design review and commissioning services, developing the commissioning plan and specifications, developing pre-functional tests, witnessing equipment start-up, developing functional test procedures and conducting functional testing, preparing the final commissioning report and providing a re-commissioning manual, and coordinating and assisting the owner with re-commissioning of systems and equipment at near warranty end.
Systems to be commissioned include HVAC, heating water, electrical and controls.
