EEI was hired to provide commissioning and quality assurance services for Building B220 of Pfizer's Central Research Campus. This state-of-the-art, 600,000-square foot chemistry, biology and vivarium laboratory building houses 120 separate wet and dry laboratories.
EEI's commissioning services included design review and functional testing of all HVAC systems. EEI developed a list of systems to be commissioned and provided commissioning specifications and functional performance test criteria. EEI also provided design review, M/E/P coordination review and field review of work in progress. EEI reviewed bids, shop drawings, equipment submittals and commissioning submittals. In addition, EEI reviewed and commented on RFIs and attended design progress meetings.
HVAC systems commissioned included AHUs, exhaust, lab pressurization, fume hoods, heating water and chilled water; critical plumbing systems included water, air and vacuum; critical electrical systems included automatic transfer switches and emergency generator; and the vivarium suite systems included the surgery suite, large and small animal holding, special procedure holding and cage wash.
