LEEDŽ Project


The four-story, 150,000 SF, $51.2-million Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building is located on Arizona State University's Main campus in Tempe, Arizona. This mid-rise facility allows for sophisticated and high technology research for the biogeochemistry, bioengineering, environmental studies and environmental fluid dynamics.

This fast-track project was completed in January 2006. It houses research and graduate education laboratories, special-purpose laboratories, offices, conference rooms, a computer room, support spaces for media prep, autoclaves, cell culture, dark procedures, flex lab/microscopy, environmental chambers, and imaging. Included in this project is a 10,000 SF of Vivarium space, a 6,000 SF NMR suite, and a 2,000 SF BSL3 lab.

EEI's scope included commissioning of the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, fire alarm, teledata and lab equipment.

This project is seeking Silver LEED certification.
