The Capital One West Creek Campus has nine buildings (950,000 sq. ft.) and serves as Capital One's corporate headquarters. Building spaces include private offices, informal meeting areas and conference rooms; lounge, kitchen and dining areas; communications rooms; dock and storage areas; and UPS, electrical and pump rooms.

EEI was hired to provide functional testing of the facility's engineered systems, utilizing Capital One's existing verification test procedures (VTPs) where possible and developing new VTPs for additional building systems where needed. The following systems were functionally tested:

  • Emergency generator
  • Computer room air-conditioning unit (CRAC)
  • UPS, ATS and emergency generator integrated test
  • UPS room cooling system
  • Emergency-power-off switch
  • Inergen suppression and preaction sprinkler systems
  • Fire pump
  • Atrium smoke removal system
  • VAV rooftop units
  • VAV and fan-powered VAV terminal units (sampling)
  • Domestic water booster pump
  • Remote monitoring system (as part of the integrated test)
  • Exhaust fans and make-up units (Knuckle Building)
