EEI was proud to sponsor the Building Commissioning Association’s 20th Anniversary Dinner in October 2018. The dinner was held at the iconic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and was part of the BCA Annual Conference. EEI is a founding member of the BCA and several of our team members have served as Presidents, Vice Presidents, and members of the Board. We are thrilled to continue our support for BCA as a firm and through the individual contributions of our employees.
As a founding member and Certified Commissioning Firm, EEI eagerly supports this fantastic organization that provides education and innovation to the commissioning industry nationwide. EEI staff who attended the conference met with industry experts for three days of business planning, discussion of the commissioning climate, and identification of trends and new opportunities to grow the BCA and elevate the commissioning process. The event featured numerous educational opportunities and speeches including a keynote address given by Major General Michael J. Walsh (Ret.) titled “What Does it Mean to Have a Resilient Infrastructure?” and forums on a range of topics including Design Phase Cx, Laser & Critical Environment Labs, and the Value of BECx for Performance & Risk Avoidance. EEI presented on the topic of Smart Building Commissioning in a presentation entitled If It’s so Smart, Why Can’t the Equipment Communicate?
There were a number of networking opportunities and panel discussions including a Young Professionals panel focusing on the next generation of Commissioning Providers. Beyond the commissioning-focused educational opportunities, participants had opportunities to play in a golf tournament and apply their skills to solving an escape room! EEI team members attended a variety of events throughout the conference, gathering new ideas to grow our services, making new connections, and connecting with colleagues from around the nation.
