LEED® Project
EEI was hired to provide building commissioning services for the expansion of the Lowe’s Corporate Headquarters Campus. Phase III of this project included a 7-story, 850,000-SF office building, parking garage and chiller plant. The new central chilled water plant services the Phase III building, as well as existing Phase I and II buildings.
EEI’s commissioning services included the following: Review of 95% Contract Documents, Design Intent and Basis of Design Documents; Commissioning Plan development; schedule coordination; prefunctional site visits; equipment installation verification; equipment submittal review; functional test development; temperature controls documentation review; observation reports; issues logs; functional testing observation; training programs review; operational & maintenance submittal review; creation of Final Commissioning Report; and development of LEED templates for LEED commissioning credits.
The equipment and systems commissioned included the following:
- Mechanical: Liquid chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, exhaust fans, rooftop packaged AC unit pumps, split-system air-handling units, pre-conditioning units, fans, boilers, pumps, computer room units, fan-powered terminal boxes, VAV terminal boxes, VAV floor boxes (UMCs), water treatment systems
- Electrical: Occupancy sensors, daylighting zones, lighting controls and photocell lighting
- Plumbing: Domestic water heaters, hot water recirculating pump, and water booster pumps
