LEED^® Gold Project

The University of Hawaii’s (UH) new Institute of Technology building is located in Honolulu, Hawaii and serves all 10 university campuses statewide.  This new IT center will provide the University with its first properly designed and supported facility to house all of its IT resources.  The University also provides Internet access for the Hawaii State Government.

The new Institute of Technology is designed to remain operable through most disasters and will house the University’s first Emergency Situation Room.  This will allow the University's Executive Management to take advantage of the building’s emergency power and communications capability to handle institutional response to disasters from a centralized location.

The UH IT Center will be the first data center project in Hawaii designed to meet the requirements of the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED Gold rating.

EEI Data is commissioning the following equipment and systems:

• Chilled water
• Air distribution system
• Energy recovery pre-conditioning
• Chilled beams
• Heat pump domestic hot water heaters
• Building automation system
• Lighting controls
• Backup power system
• Photovoltaic power system
