Experience Music Project

EEI provided commissioning services for the Experience Music Project, a rock and roll museum sitting in the shadow of the Space Needle at the Seattle Center. The unusual Frank Gehry building houses a collection of rock and roll memorabilia that stands at more than 70,000 items and provides an interactive music experience for patrons emphasizing the creativity and technology behind music. In addition to the curatorial exhibits, the building includes an auditorium, restaurant, night club, and virtual reality ride.
EEI was hired as the Commissioning Authority for this project. The equipment and systems commissioned included:
- 15 major air handling units
- Variable air volume boxes
- Boilers
- Chillers
- Cooling towers
- Building automation systems
- Humidity control systems
