Technical Writer/Proposal Coordinator

Job Role:   Under general supervision, the Technical Writer/Proposal Coordinator will assist the firm’s Marketing Team and Branch, Satellite, and Project Managers in the investigation, recommendation, and coordination of marketing related projects, the creation of global marketing resources/materials, and the compilation of specific marketing and presentation packages.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Create proposals, including writing, research, data gathering, execution, and delegation.
  • Write qualifications materials and general marketing correspondence.
  • Coordinate and support the production of proposal submissions, both electronic and paper versions.
  • Help develop a strategy for project-specific marketing activities and coordinate production of project marketing support materials (proposals, presentations, etc.).
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate a range of marketing support activities.
  • Develop/maintain marketing information systems.
  • Create concepts for and coordinate the production of collateral materials and social media content.
  • Support development or marketing and sales strategy.
  • Research target markets and clients.
  • Plan/coordinate special events.
  • Coordinate the corporate identity, client outreach programs, project photography, and advertising implementation. 

Relationship to Employees and Clients:

The Technical Writer/Proposal Coordinator reports directly to the Principal Business Development, who will provide supervisory responsibilities.   

The Technical Writer/Proposal Coordinator works with anyone marketing the firm’s services and may also work directly with clients, prospects, architects, or other engineering firms in preparing marketing packages.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism or technical field; or 5 years of experience, preferably with 3 year in marketing or communications-related position.
  • Is well organized, persistent, tactful, and enthusiastic.  Works well with all types and levels of people without close supervision.
  • Has excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates understanding of marketing and public relations, and working knowledge of the firm’s business, policies, procedures, programs, and capabilities.
  • Possesses good time management skills and the ability to balance short-term deadlines against long-term goals.
  • Proficient computer skills in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe programs and Advance Adobe InDesign skills.
  • Ability to conduct Internet research.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a project team.
  • Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to take direction from clients, management, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines.
  • Ability to participate in multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.
