EEI was hired to provide commissioning services for the Geiger Montessori School project. The project included the construction of a new 70,000-SF building built to the Washington Sustainable Schools protocol.

EEI was able to address and resolve specific concerns through the commissioning process, such as insufficient building ventilation based on airflow restrictions caused by equipment and design conditions, as well as provide properly controlled HVAC equipment and lighting. In addition, EEI identified a number of concerns regarding the commissioned equipment and prepared an observation and recommendation for each item. EEI also provided written reports documenting each item to the design and construction teams and worked together with them to address and track each issue to resolution leaving no outstanding items at the conclusion of the commissioning activities.

Commissioned systems included chilled water system, heating hot water system, ventilation and air distribution systems, unitary heating and cooling systems, exhaust systems, building automation and temperature controls system, domestic hot water system, life safety systems interface with the energy management control system, lighting control system, and emergency power system.
